Jeff and I had a weekend full of plans, including time spent with friends, projects galore with Laura, one of my awesome and crafty friends, installation of our headboard (mini-miracles do come true!), and a ghost walk of Lancaster City.
All of these plans were dashed, however, as we napped on Friday night, followed by an emergency room visit when I woke up with intense abdominal pain at 1:30. I was in a panic, and I woke Jeff up to help me. I count myself very lucky to have him take charge on Friday. He was up and dressed and helping me in no time, like second nature. I guess that's what happens in an emergency. You just do what you know needs to be done, and worry later. While I felt a little frazzled and at a standstill, he got me moving, dressed, and into the car, where he had a blanket for me in case I got cold.
We finally left the emergency room at about 7 a.m. and I have to say that the visit, while certainly not pleasant, was efficient and almost calming. All of the nurses, radiology technicians, doctors, and everyone who helped along the way was incredibly helpful and kind, and I couldn't have asked for a better ER experience. (I would not ask for another anytime soon, either!)
After our ER stint, I spent a Saturday of rest on the couch and an turned in extra early for bed, and while still not feeling 100% "myself" today, I am definitely feeling much, much better. I still have a little pain when I breathe, which I would take any day over what I experienced on Friday night!
I'm hoping to recoup some of this lost time today by readying our room for the headboard and getting one kitchen project done...nothing taxing, though. Taking it easy is the key.
